I really want to get another fish. I'm thinking about naming his Daiquiri. Would that be wrong? More or less wrong than naming the previous one after a type of sushi? :)

I think you did the right thing, although it must have been really hard for you. I can't imagine putting a fish in a blender can be humane at all. Besides, who would ever want to be responsible for cleaning that mess up? Gross.

I had a betta for awhile - 3 years, to be exact. He was so elderly, and then he had a little fishy stroke. I found him floating, and thought he was dead, but then he started flipping his little fin, and after than could only flip on on side, which meant he basically just turned in little circles. He only lived about 3 weeks after that, but if I'd know about the vodka method, I would've euthanized him.

Sorry for your loss. But thank you for sharing the number of people who feel that blenders are a good tool for putting a fish out of its misery.
