I am inordinately proud of my little box on the sidebar with the book I’m currently reading. And a picture! I’m so pleased I come back to look at it from time to time. I’m also pretty pleased with the book I’m currently reading. It’s hefty—over 800 pages, I believe. And it’s about British magicians fighting the French. What more could you want?
I was wondering last night, though, if publicly announcing what book I’m reading will influence my decisions. If I decide to read that Nicolas Sparks novel I picked up for my great aunt before I send it to her, will I announce that? I’m not sure.
One thing I know for sure, I shall not be posting my current musical favorites. While I’m pretty confident in my taste in books (and my ability to finish them quickly if I do something foolish like, say, pick up Star at the Goodwill), I know I have wretched taste in music. There is simply no call for publicizing the fact that I have been listening to Shakira’s Dirty Laundry, Styx’s Greatest Hits, and Tori Amos’ Little Earthquakes on a steady rotation this week.
How do you like that book? It’s been gathering dust on my shelf for a long time now… I tried starting it and couldn’t get into it. And I like that sort of stuff.
how did you make the sidebar. I want to spruce up my site -it’s clunky and not polished, but I am not smart about stuff like that. tell me how you did it, please!!
I had that book out of the library for almost three months and never made it past the first 200 pages. I love stories like that but it and me were just not buddies.
Considering I read about 3 books a week I have decided to admit defeat. But mainly because it had to go back to the library. I suspect I will end up buying it and it will be my nemisis.
